The honesty comes first, and we say it proudly rather than in fine print: this citrine, like nearly all bright citrine on the market, is heat treated amethyst, warmed until the purple turns gold. The quartz is entirely real, the treatment is centuries old lapidary practice, and naming it plainly is the difference between an
